North Cyprus Cost of Living

The Statistical Institute reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 1.42% in June 2025 compared to the previous month.


The six-month increase in the cost of living was 17.79%, and the annual increase of the index was 35.78% compared to June 2024.


Trends by main expenditure groups


The highest monthly increase was recorded in the category "Restaurants and Hotels"8.14%.


Changes in other categories:

  • Clothing and Footwear — increase of 5.18%;

  • Furniture, household appliances and maintenance services3.36%;

  • Miscellaneous goods and services2.83%;

  • Transport2.37%;

  • Education1.62%;

  • Health1.24%;

  • Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels1.20%;

  • Alcoholic beverages and tobacco0.50%;

  • Communication — increase of 0.16%;

  • Food and non-alcoholic beveragesdecrease of 3.04%;

  • Recreation and culturedecrease of 0.32%.


Product prices: increase and decrease


Compared to May:

  • prices of 451 items increased,

  • prices of 88 items decreased.


Highest price increases


  • Lemon — +86.39%;

  • Lettuce — +50.27%;

  • Kiwi — +34.26%.


Largest price drops


  • Watermelons — −74.04%;

  • Melons — −69.42%;
