The Story of Panama Home: A Dream 30 Years in the Making
Every business has a story, but some stories carry a special kind of warmth — the kind that comes from perseverance, passion, and a lifelong dream finally coming true. Panama Home, the newest home textiles and décor store in Esentepe, is one such story.
At its heart is a woman named Emne Mutlu, born in 1973, whose life has been shaped by hard work, family values, and an unwavering belief in her dream.
For 30 years, Emne worked as a sales representative, serving customers with care, patience, and a genuine love for helping people choose the perfect items for their homes.

For the last 18 of those years, she worked at the well-known Ersalahi Mermaid store in Girne — a place where she grew professionally, built strong customer relationships, and became known for her friendly, energetic personality. Many of her former customers still remember how she would greet them with a smile and guide them with expert advice.
But behind her dedication was a dream she had held close since she was young: to open her very own home textiles shop. Life, of course, brought responsibilities and priorities. Emne married, became a mother, and built a loving family in Esentepe village. Her daughter went on to become a teacher, her son became an electrical engineer, and her husband built a successful passenger transfer business of his own. Together, they created a home full of support — the very thing that allowed Emne to continue believing in her dream even when it felt distant.
After three decades of experience and years of encouragement from customers and loved ones, Emne made the bold decision to take the next step. In September 2025, she finally opened Panama Home, a warm and welcoming store offering everything from curtains, mattresses, and beds to home décor, tailoring services, and high-quality home textiles.
Located conveniently just 100–150 metres after Dima Supermarket on the Esentepe–Girne road, the store has quickly became a favourite among locals and newcomers alike.
What makes Panama Home special isn’t just the products — though they are carefully selected, stylish, and affordable. The real difference is Emne herself. She arrives each morning with joy and enthusiasm, ready to help customers with the same energy she had on her very first day as a sales representative 30 years ago. Her kindness, honesty, and passion have given the store a unique atmosphere: one where customers feel at home from the moment they walk in.
Panama Home represents more than a business. It is the result of a lifetime of dedication, a testament to believing in your dreams, and a celebration of family support. Today, as Emne stands behind the counter of her own store, she is not just selling textiles — she is sharing her story, her spirit, and her dream with the community she loves.
And every customer who steps inside becomes part of that story.
