North Cyprus is home to a vibrant and growing Lions Club community—part of Lions Clubs International but organized as an undistricted territory (since it isn't part of a standard district).

📌 The Clubs & Membership


  • There are around 15–18 Lions Clubs in Northern Cyprus, with over 500 members.


  • Some of the active clubs include:

    • Mağusa Mesarya

    • Mağusa Kale

    • Nicosia New Generation

    • Girne Özgürada

    • Lefkoşa Başkent

    • İskele Sahil, plus several “Mağusa” specialty clubs.


🛠️ Community Initiatives


Health & Awareness

  • Diabetes awareness march in Famagusta, with free public screenings—co‑organized by eight or more local clubs including Mağusa Kale, Nicosia New Generation, Mağusa Mesarya, and Young Professionals Cyprus Virtual.


  • Virtual breast‑cancer awareness forum, bringing together 14 clubs with expert speakers like Prof Hasan Besim.


Youth, Vision & Disability Support

  • Donation of smartwatches for visually impaired children by Mağusa Mesarya and Nicosia New Generation.


  • Wheelchairs and food parcels for families, underprivileged children, and those with disabilities (e.g., Rett Syndrome).


Education & Mental Wellness

  • Launch of the Lions Quest social‑emotional learning program for 300 teachers in Northern Cyprus, coordinated with Lions Clubs International Foundation and Turkey’s MD 118 foundation.


Medical Donations

  • The Young Professionals Cyprus Virtual Lions Club donated nebulisers and an ECG device to rural health centres, reaching thousands in the Karpaz region.


🤝 Bi‑Communal & International Engagement

  • First joint activity since 1974 between North and South Cyprus Lions: a “mini‑football” gift for visually impaired children, held in Famagusta Old Town in 2021 with Greek‑Cypriot support.


  • Northern clubs gained recognition at the Mediterranean Lions Conference in Tunisia (2022), where “Northern Cyprus” was used officially for the undistricted association of 13 Lions and 4 Leos.


  • Nicosia New Generation was honoured by Lions Global’s Kindness Matters Service Award, with some of the only clubs worldwide to receive it.
