Tucked into a gentle bay along the north coast of Cyprus, just a short drive from Girne, Escape Beach Club is one of the most popular beach destinations in Northern Cyprus. Whether you're looking to chill out with family, soak up the sun, or enjoy some water sports (and even evening entertainment), Escape ticks a lot of boxes. Here's everything you need to know before you go.
The Beach & Setting
• The beach is sandy (golden tones) with shallow waters, making it family-friendly. Children can paddle safely, and you won’t need aqua shoes for most of the area.
• Backed by foothills of the Kyrenia Mountains, the bay feels sheltered and scenic.
Facilities & Amenities
• Sun loungers & umbrellas are available for hire.
• Food & Drink: There’s a restaurant/café on-site serving a variety of dishes. In the evenings, the on-beach or nearby restaurant options (like 5 Mile Restaurant & Bar) provide dining with views.
• Showers, changing rooms, toilets are available. Cleanliness tends to be good.
Activities & Vibe
• Water sports: jet skis, banana boats, possibly pedal boats or diving courses.
• Relaxed by day: sun, sand, sea, lounging. By late afternoon / evening, especially in summer, it becomes more lively with music, DJs, and parties.
Costs & Timing
• There is an entrance fee for Escape Beach Club. You’ll also pay extra for sunbed / umbrella rental.
• Hours are generally from morning until evening (e.g. 8:00-20:00) during the summer season.
Ideal For & What to Expect
• Families: yes — because of shallow water, sand, and good facilities.
• Those wanting relaxation + convenience: a good pick.
• Partygoers: yes, though more during peak season and certain evenings.
• Not as remote: because of proximity to Girne, it’s a little more developed and busy than more secluded beaches.
Tips Before You Go
1. Visit in peak summer if you want full services (restaurants open, parties, water sports operating). Off-season many services reduce or close.
2. Bring sun protection — parasols help, but the sun in Northern Cyprus can be strong.
3. Check your currency & price expectations — entrance & service fees, food/drink costs can be higher at beach clubs.
4. Make reservations if going for dinner or evening events, especially in July-August.
5. Transport planning: If you’re not renting a car, check minibus schedules ahead of time.
Weather & Best Time to Visit
• Hot season: June → September. Expect air temperatures in the 30s °C, water pleasantly warm.
• Shoulder seasons (May, October): still warm, less crowded, services may be more limited but great value.
• Winter: many amenities won’t be operating; the sea is cooler, though the landscape is still beautiful.
What people are saying lately:
• Many visitors praise the location and scenery: crystal-clear water, a lovely pier, beautiful sandy beach, backdrop of the Kyrenia Mountains.
• Lots of people like that there are plenty of amenities: sunbeds, parasols, bars/restaurants, water sports, good café options.
• The beach is described as cleaner than many others. But some say it’s expensive relative to similar beach clubs.
• A few criticisms:
o Service isn’t always consistent. For example, one person said that even though they paid entrance, sunbeds were hard to find and service was low.
o Some say parts of the infrastructure could do with updating/renovation.
o Other “extras” (towels, etc.) not always included.

Final Thoughts
Perfect if you love water sports and want to enjoy jet skiing, pedal boating, canoeing, volleyball, banana boats or scuba diving. The beach is very clean with lots of amenities, including showers available in restaurants, and the water is shallow with tiny waves. It’s very popular but somehow rarely overcrowded, with lawns next to the beach for comfortable lounging, and plenty of shade. Don’t miss out on the local clubbing scene either, as this is one of the hottest locations on the island, with a memorable vibe.
